Institutional Subscribers

Register with Your Work Email

If your school, university, law firm, or district has an institutional subscription, anyone with an approved email domain gets access automatically — no seat management, no per-user fees. Use your institutional email address (not a personal Gmail or similar) to register below.

Use your work or university email — not a personal address (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.). Your domain is how we verify your institution's subscription.

Use your work or university email. If your institution isn't subscribed yet, contact your library or administrator — or see the institutional subscription options above.

Common Questions

FAQ

How does institutional domain verification work? +

When your institution subscribes and payment is received, we authorize your email domain (e.g., @fgcu.edu). Once your domain is active, anyone who registers using that domain gets immediate digital access — no individual seat management, no per-user fees. (See the next question for how long domain activation takes.)

How long does it take for my institution's access to activate? +

If you pay by card through our Stripe checkout, your domain is typically active within 24–48 hours. If you request an invoice instead, activation follows once payment is received and processed — this can take longer depending on your institution's payment and procurement timeline.

Do individual subscribers get print and digital access? +

Yes. The $38.80/year individual subscription includes all four print issues mailed directly to you, plus full digital flipbook access — the current issue and the complete back-issue archive.

Is a digital-only individual subscription available? +

Not at this time. The $38.80/year individual subscription includes both print and digital access as a single package — there isn't a digital-only or print-only tier currently.

What's the publication schedule? +

LAPIS publishes quarterly: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. The inaugural issue was Fall 2025. New issues drop digitally shortly after they are shipped to print subscribers.

I registered but never got a verification email. What do I do? +

First, check your spam or junk folder — automated emails from new domains sometimes land there. If it's not there after 15 minutes, email [email protected] and we'll activate your account manually within one business day.

Can my institution pay by invoice instead of card? +

Yes. Use our invoice request form to submit your institution's billing details, and we'll generate and send an invoice. Once payment is received and processed, your domain will be activated (see above for typical timing).

How does renewal work, and can I cancel? +

Individual subscriptions renew automatically each year through Stripe; you can cancel anytime before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next year. Institutional subscriptions paid via Stripe also auto-renew under the same terms. If your institution pays by invoice, renewal isn't automatic — you'll need to submit a new invoice request before your current term ends to avoid a gap in access.

If you paid by Stripe and would like to cancel, you can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through your Stripe Customer Portal.

If you paid by invoice (e.g., check), there's nothing you need to do — your subscription simply will not renew after your current term ends. We're unable to prorate or refund early cancellations, but if you do cancel mid-term, you'll retain access through the end of your purchased term.

Is payment processed securely? +

All subscriptions are processed through the Education Law Association's Stripe portal. ELA is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit. No payment information is stored on this site. Institutional subscribers requesting an invoice can do so above, or contact us directly with questions.
